A Problem-Solving Approach To Family Law
Family law disputes have a reputation for being ugly, but they don’t have to be that way. Certainly, divorce, child custody and related issues are often highly emotional for the people involved, but with help from a skilled attorney, you can avoid the drama and bitter feelings and concentrate on what’s most important.
At the Fort Wayne, Indiana, office of J. Brian Tracey, Attorney at Law, we help men and women resolve their issues in family law in ways that respect their rights and protect their children, while keeping a lid on the level of conflict. We aren’t interested in a fight; we are interested in solving problems.
We help clients with many issues in family law, including:
- Property division
- High-asset property division
- Spousal maintenance/alimony
- Child custody
- Visitation and parenting time
- Child support
There is no one-size-fits-all solution to family law disputes. When you are our client, we work closely with you to explain your legal options and to develop a plan to help you meet your goals.
Mediation And Negotiation
Most family law issues today are resolved out of court, through negotiating a settlement. This has many advantages over going to trial: It’s generally quicker, less expensive and gives the parties a greater degree of control over the process. However, even in a relatively amicable divorce, it’s not easy to reach an agreement that is fair and reaches everyone’s needs.
To help our clients reach the best results they can, we use a variety of techniques. J. Brian Tracey is certified as a mediator, and he is trained in collaborative law. At the same time, our wide-ranging practice has given him extensive experience as a trial lawyer. He has the skill, training and experience to argue for our clients’ interests in almost any legal setting.
